The most evil thing about Daniel Radcliffe’s new project Horns is how long we’ve had to wait for little hints—his impressive American accent, those wicked-looking horns—without knowing when the movie would actually be released. Now, we get both a full trailer and a release date!

Appropriately, Horns will come to theaters on October 31. Based on the dark fantasy novel by Joe Hill, the film follows Ig Perrish (Radcliffe), the prime suspect in the rape and murder of his girlfriend Merrin (Juno Temple). Ig awakens after a drunken night to discover three disturbing things: He’s growing horns from his temples, he’s followed around by snakes, and people feel compelled to confess their basest, most sinful desires and mistakes to him.

The latter might actually prove helpful, as Ig starts tracking down his girlfriend’s killer in an attempt to clear his name. Of course, the horns won’t do much to sway public opinion when his (non-horned) face is on the front page of newspapers with the caption “Is This the Face of the Devil?”

This first trailer is rather short, and reveals the titular horns only at the very end. We’re hoping that the next trailers hint at the true, terrible extent of Ig’s diabolical powers. After all, it’s a long way until Halloween.

So it that a snake wrapped around his neck, or the horns?

Radcliffe has been making some smart career moves, so I’m hopeful this movie will be good.

I was not impressed with this book. It is Stephen King lite. (Yes I know who Joe Hill is.)

And yet another woman raped and killed to give the men in the book reason to do what they do. *sigh*

Agree, shellywb. Woman in refrigerator is bad enough, but let’s rape her too. Come up with some new ideas, folks.
